Pooja Gupte is a graduate with Photography as specialisation in Commercial Art from Pune, India. She studied cinematography from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, India. Pooja was selected as an Indian cinematographer in Berlinale Talent Campus 2012, Germany. She has recently become a member of Imago's Diversity and inclusion Committee. She was also invited to present her work in Stuttgart, Germany as part of series Making of Indian Cinema at Stuttgart-Indian Film Festival 2019.
Her first feature film as DoP “Crossing Bridges” won National (President’s) award in 2014 which she also had produced under her production house Easel Films. She was awarded Best Cinematography for feature film “Rukh” in 5th AIFF 2018. Brij Mohan Amar Rahe is one of the first Netflix originals feature film from India Directed by Nikhil Bhat. Panchak, one of her recent feature film released on 5th Jan 2024 and was produced by Madhuri Dixit and Dr Sriram Nene. Panchak had a good 4 weeks run in theatres. Silence-2 a feature film for Zee studio film produced by veteran Cinematographer Mr Kiran Deohans ISC and Directed by Aban Deohans starring Manoj Bajpaiyee released on 16th April 2024 on Zee5. Minimum a feature shot in Belgrade and Brussels produced by Platoon One starring Naseeruddin Shah, Namit das, Saba Azad, Geetanjali Kulkarni directed by Rumana Molla who is also lead in the film premiered as a opening film at UK Asian film Festival 2024. Another of her recent work is a film she shot for Poshmapa films for Viacom Starring Babil Khan premiered at Indian Stuttgart Film Festival Germany 2024 called Logout.
Apart from this Pooja has worked on several short films and commercials. Naam a recent short has been doing festival rounds.
